Restorative Yoga is a journey of self-study and internal wealth, especially as we navigate difficult moments in our lives. It brings equilibrium to the nervous system, benefits the body’s organ systems, and welcomes clarity into our minds. Restorative Yoga asks us as practitioners to discover our breath and find stillness inside of it. It shows us that the breath is the link between the body and the mind.
This course will guide you through:
The importance of the nervous system and subtle body and how they relate to Restorative Yoga and relaxation.
Supported Restorative Yoga postures (with prop hacks)
Pranayama and meditation
How to sequence and teach a Restorative Yoga class
Use of voice, verbal cues, props, and hands-on assists
Development of skills to sense, see, and feel energetic misalignment and skills for adjusting students to a greater sense of wholeness and healing
How to work with different body sizes, shapes, and abilities
Physical, spiritual, and emotional aspects of Restorative Yoga
The organs through the lens of Chinese Medicine: where our bodies hold certain emotions, and acupressure points and yoga poses that help to unblock channels of energy
How and when to introduce Restorative Yoga postures into an active class
